Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & Age Restriction

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account, join the waitlist, or use Gyigye. By accessing or using our services, you warrant and represent that:

• You are at least 18 years old and legally competent to enter into this agreement.
• You have never been convicted of a violent crime or sexual offense.
• You will maintain one single, authentic account under your true identity.
• You possess an active Ghanaian mobile phone number.

2. Community Code of Conduct

Gyigye exists to foster authentic, culturally respectful connections. You strictly agree not to:

• Solict money, financial assistance, investments, or commercial services from other members.
• Impersonate any person or upload photographs that do not accurately represent your current appearance.
• Send unsolicited explicit content, engage in harassment, stalking, bullying, hate speech, or defamation.
• Use automated bots, scripts, scrapers, or exploits to access or disrupt platform systems.

Violations of these standards result in immediate, non-negotiable account suspension and termination.

3. Photo Review & Safety Safeguards

To ensure trust and community integrity, all profile photographs are submitted to our Trust & Safety moderation team for human review prior to public discovery. We reserve the right to reject images containing nudity, violence, third-party minors, or fraudulent impersonation.

Members can report or block any profile at any time. We cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities in Ghana, including the Ghana Police Service Cybercrime Unit, regarding unlawful conduct.

4. Payments & Mobile Money

The core Gyigye service (account creation, phone verification, likes, mutual matching, and messaging) is free. We may offer optional enhanced feature passes (“Gyigye Plus”).

• Prepaid Model: Gyigye Plus passes are sold exclusively as fixed-period prepaid bundles (1 week, 1 month, 3 months). Passes do not auto-renew.
• Payment Processing via Paystack: All payments are processed securely through Paystack, our payment provider.
• Wallet PIN Security: Transactions are completed directly between you and your Mobile Money operator (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, or AirtelTigo Money). Gyigye never sees, collects, transmits, or stores your Mobile Money wallet PIN or payment security credentials.
• Prices & Taxes: All stated prices are in Ghana Cedis (GHS) and include applicable statutory taxes unless expressly specified otherwise.

5. Account Deletion & Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via the Settings menu in the application. Upon deletion, your personal profile, chat history, and uploaded photographs are permanently removed from our active database. Palmer Group Limited may terminate or suspend access immediately for any violation of these Terms.

Safety and moderation records (for example, reports and the actions we took) may be kept after an account is deleted, to protect other members and prevent repeat abuse. These records don't include your photos or messages.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Gyigye provides the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we enforce phone verification and human photo review, you are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, both on the platform and in person. Palmer Group Limited shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
